"No CPI(M) worker will get special consideration from the ruling party led government," he told reporters here.
The remarks come close on the heels of two party workers in Wadakkancherry being suspended after a woman alleged that she had been gangraped by them two years ago.
Kodiyeri also criticised Thrissur District Secretary K Radhakrishnan for disclosing the name of the rape victim.
He said the party was of the same opinion put forth by CPI(M) General secretary Sitaram Yechury, who had said that the victim's name should not have been disclosed.
The order was put on hold yesterday.
"Mediapersons have the right to do their duty without fear in any place. The responsiblity to protect the rights of media personnel inside courts rests with respective judicial officers," he said.
Seeking action against such lawyers, the CPI(M) leader said their acts should be viewed as a criminal offence.
"The judiciary should uphold its dignity by sending a clear message to the lawyers that these type of actions will not be tolerated", he said.
