who fatally attacked his senior roommate has been arrested here, police said today.
Sr PI SL Daule told PTI that accused Dattaram Shantaram Chavan and victim Rajendra Upadhyaya, 41 had a quarrel over a minor issue regarding the lone bathroom of the locality (Netivili) yesterday morning.
The incident took place when Chavan was taking a shower, and Upadhyaya stepped in ensuing an altercation.
In a fit of rage, Chavan pulled out his knife and slit the throat of Upadhaya and also attacked him on his neck and face, police said.
Chavan subsequently narrated the incident to the Kolsehwadi police and surrendered. He was arrested and charged under section 302 of the IPC.
While the accused had lost his job a few weeks back the victim was working in Kalyan itself.
