The youth, identified as Ibrahim, had come to the house of the children, along with a doctor, who was visiting an ailing boy there.
The family the children had gone out in the fields for work, and after the doctor had left the house, Ibrahim stayed back and later attempted to rape the minor girl, police said.
The incident took place at Nidhoilkalanin in mid-October but the FIR was lodged yesterday in the case, as the family of the children alleged that the FIR was lodged only after the court intervened.
The FIR has been lodged in this connection against the accused, police said, adding, no arrest has been made so far.
