Youth stoned to death in Dombivli

A 25-year-old man from Dombivli here was allegedly stoned to death by four unidentified persons, police said today.
The incident took place in the wee hours yesterday when the victim Shreyas Chari along with his neighbour Digambar Patil arrived in an auto rickshaw near his residential building in Pandurang Wadi locality and were assaulted by the four men, inspector (Crime) S B Sawant, Tilak Nagar police station told PTI.
As soon as Chari and Patil got down from the rickshaw, the four masked persons came near them, Sawant said, adding smelling suspicion, Chari enquired why they were loitering and were suddenly attacked by the miscreants with stones.

According to the complaint filed by Patil yesterday, he and Chari sustained serious injuries.
Later, Chari succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment and his body has been sent for post mortem, he said.
A case under IPC sections 302 (murder) has been registered and efforts are on to nab the four accused who are at large, he added.
