YSR Congress leader Sharmila addresses public at Telengana

Sharmila, who is the sister of party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, entered Mahabubnagar district in Telangana and addressed an impressive public meeting at Pulluru, accompanied by her mother Y S Vijayamma.

Reiterating that neither the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy nor Jagan was against Telangana, Vijayamma recalled the resolution adopted at the YSRCP plenary meet demanding that the Centre find a suitable solution for the Telangana issue without adversely affecting sentiments of people from any region.

"Telangana farmers benefited most when YSR, soon after assuming power as CM, signed the file relating to the crop loan waiver in 2004," she said, adding that Jagan, like his father Rajasekhara Reddy, would also strive for the welfare of Telangana people when he comes to power.

Sharmila began a statewide march on October 18 from their family estate Idupulapaya in native Kadapa district, where the late Andhra Pradesh CM Rajasekhara Reddy's samadhi is located. She has covered Rayalaseema region so far.
