Zinc prices drifted lower by 0.39 per cent to Rs 177.95 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions amid easing demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July month fell by 70 paise, or 0.39 per cent, to Rs 177.95 per kg in business turnover of 8,490 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in June month contracts shed 10 paise, or 0.06 per cent to Rs 178.10 per kg in 10,778 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants on the back of tepid demand in the spot markets, mainly led to decline in zinc prices at futures trade.
