Zinc futures prices today edged up by 0.32% to Rs 141 per kg today after speculators created positions amid a firm global trend and better domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in June increased by 45 paise, or 0.32%, to Rs 141 per kg, with a business turnover of 156 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in current month traded higher by 40 paise, or 0.29%, to Rs 140.50 per kg in a turnover of 632 lots.

Traders said besides improved spot demand, a firming trend in base metals overseas mainly led to rise in zinc prices at futures trade here.
