Zoramthanga re-elected as MNF president

The Opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) today held an intra-party general assembly in Aizawl where top leaders including former chief minister Zoramthanga were re-elected unopposed.
Returning officer for the MNF party elections announced that Zoramthanga and former underground MNF 'Army Chief' Tawnluia were re-elected to the posts of president and senior vice-president unopposed respectively.
Former ministers R Tlanghmingthanga and Dr R Lalthangliana were re-elected unopposed as vice-presidents while former Lok Sabha member Vanlalzawma was also re-elected unopposed as treasurer of the party.
Two term chief minister Zoramthanga has been the MNF president since the death of legendary leader Laldenga in 1990.
