C Subramaniam Gets Bharatratna

President K R Narayanan yesterday conferred the `Bharat ratna, the highest civilian award to C Subramaniam who heralded the green revolution in the country during 60s. Narayanan also gave away the Padma awards to 50 other eminent personalities at a function in the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhawan .
