Dun & Bradstreet Satyam To Be Rechristened Cognizant Tech

Dun & Bradstreet Satyam Software, the 76:24 joint venture between Dun & Bradstreet Corporation and the Satyam group, is being renamed Cognizant Technology Solutions.

This follows a major restructuring of the business divisions of the parent company Dun & Bradstreet Corporation. The Madras-based unit will now function as a business division of the US-based Cognizant Corporation. The unit will focus on high technology products.

A three-way split in Dun & Bradstreet Corporation to facilitate the growth of each division as a separate entity resulted in the formation of three companies -Dun & Bradstreet, AC Nielsen Consumer Products and Cognizant Corporation.

G V N Appa Rao, senior manager, technical services said the operational aspects of the company will remain unchanged despite the split. He added that the company is, in fact, poised to grow at a much higher rate.

Part of the decision involves looking at the Indian market in order to launch its services for the design and development of web pages on the Internet and Year 2000 solutions.
