Turnover Touches Rs 256.58 Crore

NSE REPORT

The wholesale debt market witnessed turnover worth Rs 256.58 crore yesterday, of which the treasury bills segment accounted for trades worth Rs 60 crore.

While trading in the corporate debenture segment at the bourse remained closed due to technical problems, there were 46 trades recorded at the NSE screen in the government securities segment.

There were eight trades recorded for the 12.5 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 at a weighted yield of 11.36 per cent.

The paper showed a trading volume of Rs 50 crore, highest among other securities for the day.

The paper was traded at a low of Rs 105.07 and a high of Rs 105.20 before closing at Rs 105.18 for the day.

The 12.59 per cent government paper maturing in 2004 showed a trading volume of Rs 40 crore at a weighted yield of 11.35 per cent.

With the call money market ruling at a lower level of five-six per cent there was trading interest in the treasury bills segment accounting to eight deals worth Rs 60 crore. The 364-day treasury bills maturing on April 10, 1998, was in demand accounting for trades worth Rs 30 crore at a weighted yield of 8.31 per cent.

The 13.50 per cent government loan maturing in 2007 was traded at a weighted yield of 11.57 per cent.
