Bhuvneshwar Kumar, for his brilliant bowling performance, in which he picked up three wickets, two of which came at the start of the innings, was rightfully adjudged as Player of the Match. Bhuvi got the wickets of English captain Jos Buttler and removed Jason Roy for a first-ball duck on the first ball of the English innings. Later on in his spell, he also got the wicket of Richard Gleeson.

The Indian team led by great performances from the likes of Ravindra Jadeja with bat and Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah with the ball, beat England by 49 runs to seal the series as they take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. 

 

Asked to bat first, men in blue got off to a flyer, hitting 50 runs in the first five overs. Then wickets fell at regular intervals even as the run rate of the Indian team never went down. And in the courtesy of a brilliant 46* off 29 balls from Jadeja, India reached a respectable total of 170-8. 

 

England were once again disappointing with the bat as both Jason Roy and Jos Buttler lost their wickets quickly. Lia Livinsgttone and Harry Brook didn’t last long wither and Malan, who was looking like playing the anchor role that he does so well, got dismissed while playing a reverse sweep. 

 

Some lusty blows from Moeen Ali and David Willey at different times in the innings could get England to only as far as 121 in 17 overs as they were bowled out. For India, Bumrah and Chahal picked two wickets each while Bhuvneshwar Kumar had three.
