A player in the Rs 625-crore audio visual and environment-control solutions market in India, Actis Technologies Pvt Ltd opened its eighth office in Pune with plans of making inroads into Maharashatra.

Maharashatra accounts for 10 per cent of the overall audio visual industry with a market size of Rs 60 crore and is growing at 10 per cent. With an office in Pune, the company hopes to penetrate into the tier III and IV towns like Ahemdnagar, Akola, Nashik and Aurangabad.

"Pune will be the hub for whole of Maharashtra (except Mumbai)," said Abhimanyu Gupta, director Actis Technologies.

The company currently has 22 channel partners in Maharashatra and will be adding another 75 in the region.

"We expect Maharashatra (except Mumbai) to grow from Rs 6 crore to Rs 150 crore by 2010," said Gupta while explaining that the regions strong economic growth especially in IT/ ITeS, manufacturing, defence, education and residential industries, was the reason for setting up base here.

Actis is focused on the banking and financial services industry, pharma and residential. "We are expanding our focus on the education, IT/ ITeS, religious institutions and legal verticals," he said.

The company already has centres in Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.

"We are growing at a compounded annual growth rate of 44 per cent, which is higher than the industry average of 25 per cent," said Gupta. He, however, refused to divulge details of the company's turnover.
