Asus ZenFone 2 launched on Flipkart at Rs 14,999 base price

The phone comes in three variants with the top end model priced at Rs 23,000

Taiwanese multinational computer hardware and electronics company, Asus, today launched the much awaited ZenFone2 handset in India. There has been considerable buzz about the phone since it is the first to offer a 4 GB RAM variant.

The company today launched three variants in all. The ZE551ML model (4 GB of RAM, 64 GB storage) has been priced at Rs. 22,999, ZE551ML (4 GB of RAM, 32 GB storage) comes at Rs. 19,999 and ZE551ML (2 GB of RAM, 16 GB storage) is priced at Rs. 14,999.

All the variants will be available for booking from today exclusively on Flipkart. However, as of now, the top end variant isn't listed on the website.  

The phone’s operating system is ZenUI which runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The 4 GB variant runs on a 64-bit 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor.

The ASUS Zenfone 2 has a hard plastic chassis with a matte finish that makes it look attractive. The capacitive touch buttons are located on the bottom and don't take up much space. The power button is on the top and the speaker is located at the back along with the volume button.

One can scribble a command on the screen to launch a pre-determined application. It also has double-tap wake feature and double-tap shrink. The phone comes with a feature called 'one-hand' use, which makes using the device easier with one hand.

The non-removable 3,000mAh battery boasts of Intel's fast-charging technology. One can charge the phone up to 60 per cent within 30-40 minutes.
