Bangalore-based IT services company ITC Infotech, has successfully completed the implementation of PLM (product lifecycle management) product for Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE), a key division of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the development of combat vehicles and derivatives along with aircraft subsystems.
The CVRDE PLM implementation is the largest PLM project for DRDO laboratory in India with a user base of over 200. A team of experts from ITC Infotech implemented the project within 12 months. The PLM implementation project involved interactions with 25 different divisions within CVRDE and designing and deploying a harmonious new product development process across CVRDE, starting from design, development, modelling, quality assurance, prototypes and incorporation of feed backs from different agencies.

We envisage that the PLM system will now enable us to respond faster to customer requirements and hasten our projects and programs, along with generation of data treasure.”
The implementation of PLM is designed to provide benefits like enhanced traceability, risk reduction and improved teamwork through collaboration during product development, as well as faster time to market knowledge driven automation and knowledge fusion (to ensure consistency and adherence to corporate standards) to CVRDE.
