Ebix Technologies, Indian subsidiary of Eraaya Lifespaces, on Tuesday announced securing a Rs 140 crore contract from Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation for the first state-wide rollout of the National Common Mobility Card for concessionaires in India. Once fully operational, the project is expected to clock transactional volumes to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore annually, boosting the entity's digital transaction ecosystem and passenger convenience, Ebix Technologies Limited, earlier known as EbixCash, said in a statement. In November 2022, the company was awarded a contract to supply and maintain 38,622 Android-based Electronic Ticketing Machines (ETMs) integrated with an online reservation system. Ebix, an IT services vendor to the financial sector, today said it will acquire the money transfer business of BSE-listed Transcorp International for USD 7.4 million or Rs 46 crore in an all-cash deal. This will be the Noida-headquartered company's fourth remittances-related acquisition in the last five months and will increase its share in the inward international remittance market to up to 80 per cent, it said in a statement. The acquisition is being done through one of its Indian subsidiaries present in the domestic remittance market, Ebixcash, it said, adding that it is subject to regulatory approvals which should take about two months.
