In January, Infosys had announced that it would buy back shares of the company for an amount aggregating up to Rs 8,260 crore (maximum buyback size) at a price not exceeding Rs 800 per equity share

The buyback price offered by the company is Rs 1,150

Offer, which closes on Dec 14, is for purchase of up to 113,043,478 shares, or 4.92% of paid-up capital, at Rs 1,150 per share

The insurer may seek ministry guidance on whether it should tender its shares in the ongoing buyback

A year ago, Infosys share was trading at Rs 1,075; two years ago, it was trading at Rs 1,175
