Nykaa Fashion chief executive officer Nihir Parikh has resigned and has been relieved with immediate effect, a regulatory filing said on Thursday. Nykaa Fashion is the fashion vertical of FSN E-commerce Ventures Ltd. "Nihir Parikh has resigned effective December 05, 2024, on account of personal commitments. He has been relieved from the services w.e.f. (with effect from) close of business hours of December 5, 2024," FSN E-commerce Ventures said in the filing. The fashion vertical accounts for less than 10 per cent of the company's revenue. The beauty segment of the company accounts for the majority of the revenue. Nykaa Fashion is still a loss-making vertical. The company has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 12.97 crore and revenue of Rs 1,874 crore for September 2024 quarter.
Nykaa on Friday announced the appointment of Sukhleen Aneja as Senior Vice President and Business Head for Kay Beauty. Kay Beauty is Nykaa's celebrity beauty brand launched in partnership with Katrina Kaif. Announcing Aneja's appointment, Nykaa, in a release, said her role will focus on propelling growth for Kay Beauty in international markets on the back of a successful launch in India. "Sukhleen will also hold responsibility for Nyveda, a brand based on the science of Ayurveda with a universal appeal in India and abroad, as well as provide strategic directions for a few of the young brands in wellness and personal care," the release added. India's beauty and personal care market is expected to grow at a compounded annual growth rate of 10-11 per cent to reach USD 34 billion by 2028, Nykaa Beauty Trends Report said on Wednesday. The report estimates India's beauty and personal care (BPC) market to be around USD 21 billion at present. According to the report, the Indian BPC market is the fastest-growing market across the world growing at a compounded annual growth rate of 10-11 per cent. "India is the fastest growing BPC market globally, expected to reach USD 34 billion by 2028," Nykaa said in a statement. Fashion and beauty retailer Nykaa hopes to actively defend its turf amid competition from Indian conglomerates and new players, as it stacks up strongly with a huge lead and advantage of brand play, customer base and business insights, founder and CEO Falguni Nayar has said.
