Captain Polyplast Q3 results: PAT grows to Rs 6.7 cr, income at Rs 90.9 cr

Solar solutions provider Captain Polyplast on Thursday a consolidated net profit of Rs 6.72 crore in the December quarter. It had posted Rs 4.96 crore net profit in October-December of 2023-24 financial year, the company said in a statement. The company's total income rose to Rs 90.89 crore from Rs 83.46 crore in the year-ago quarter. Expenses stood at Rs 82.01 crore as against Rs 77.22 crore a year earlier. Captain Polyplast is into manufacturing of solar water pumps, solar heaters besides irrigation solutions.

Solar water pump will light up salt workers' home

The government's solar water pump scheme has now come in handy in taking power to untapped areas in Gujarat. The Indian Salt Manufacturer Association (ISMA) has planned to install solar water pumps in the salt belt of Kutch region and some parts of Saurashtra which will see surplus power being consumed by salt workers for residential purpose. This is set to save diesel cost for salt producers. ISMA will install about 600 solar driven water pumps in this year. According to ISMA, using diesel run pump costs of fuel is around Rs 7.5 lakh a year for each pump while solar pump brings down the costs by 70-75 per cent. "It is viable to use solar water pump at the salt field and government is also giving a subsidy for that. Compared to diesel driven pump, cost of operating a solar pump is much lower so we have decided to install solar driven water pump which also help the salt workers to get surplus power for their home," said Bharat Raval, president of ISMA.Salt workers that mostly live at ..
