The session was intended to educate the teachers and the administrative staff of the school who would pass on the collected information to the students and encourage them to participate in a collective drive to deal with e-waste. “The social responsibility that we have undertaken does not end with one or two sessions. It is a continuous endeavour to spread awareness and also take measurable actions to make the world a better place to live in,” commented, Samit Jain, Managing Director, Pluss Polymers.
The e-waste management programme covered various topics like the nature of e-waste, types of e-waste, e-waste scenario, where the e-waste ends up, its impact on human health, why and how to recycle e-waste, challenges associated with recycling e-waste and Pluss Polymers’ role in the whole process. The event included various activities to keep the teachers and school staff engaged and entertained while being educated.

After the sessions were conducted, collection bins were installed on every floor of the school. The e-waste collection process will continue for a month. Following this, the collected e-waste will be sent to an authorised e-waste recycler for recycling or safe disposal. The workshop was attended by 40-50 staff members and teachers. Many of the participants expressed an interest in carrying out a similar awareness and collection drive in their housing societies and residential colonies.
