Thermo Fisher buys X-ray diffraction provider Inel
Acquisition to expand Thermo's capabilities in materials science and structural characterisation

Thermo Fisher Scientific, the global leader in providing analytical solutions & services to chemicals & life sciences industry, has acquired Inel Inc, a provider of real-time X-ray diffraction (XRD) systems based in Artenay, France. The business will be integrated into Thermo Fisher’s Analytical Instruments Segment.
“Inel offers a range of XRD instruments, from simple benchtop instruments for routine applications to sophisticated platforms for analysis of nano-materials, pharmaceuticals, coatings and other advanced materials. These technologies complement our existing portfolio and provide our customers with a broad offering for a range of materials science applications – from industrial to research,” said Michael Shafer, president, chemical analysis, Thermo Fisher.
