Salzer Electronics enters into technology pact with Austria's Trafomodern

Salzer Electronics Limited, a customised electrical solutions provider, entered into a technical licensing agreement with Austria-based Trafomodern Transformatorengesellschaft mbH, one of the leading manufacturers of dry type transformers in Europe.
 
The agreement was between R Doraiswamy, managing director, Salzer Electronics and Christop Blum, CEO, Trafomodern on July 10, 2015.
 
Salzer will use Trafomodern’s technology and design and assistance to manufacture dry type air cooled transformers, chokes and inductors in India. Dry type transformers is a highly specialised and technical product with applications n medium and large UPS, renewable energy business, railways, power generation and marine industry.
 
“Using Trafomodern’s technology, we will start to manufacture dry type transformers in India for our customers here and abroad. Currently, there are very few companies that manufactures this product in India and most of our customers have to import these transformers. Our customers have indicated that they would source the dry type transformers from us, once we start making them,” said Salzer in a press release.
 
Salzer - which operates in four segments namely switchgear, building segment, wires & cables and energy management – is the largest manufacturer of CAM operated rotary switches and wire ducts, with a market share of 25 percent and 20 percent respectively.
