Recently a medical emergency has been declared in the country due to the outbreak of the Ebola Virus. As a result of this, the owner's French Consultant has declared force majeure and moved out of the project site. The consultant has further declared that no construction activity covering piling, concreting, welding etc requiring certification & approval can be carried out by Technofab Engineering till the situation returns to normal and the consultant is able to be physically present at the project site.
“As a result of this, Technofab Engineering has had to suspend work on this ongoing project. Work will be resumed after medical normalcy is attained and the consultant returns to oversee and certify the work activities,” said Technofab in a BSE filing.
Large groups like Arcellor, Sterlite and others have been likewise affected, it added.
