Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and actress Katrina Kaif are the most downloaded celebrities by Indian mobiles users, a new survey says.

Katrina along with Aamir has beaten the likes of Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan to grab the top spots, said teh study, based on over 200 million downloads.

Named 'Airtel Mobitude 2009', the survey captures the preference and choice of over 116 million mobile users located across the country.

"With over 116 million mobile users, Airtel is best positioned to highlight the preference and choice of India cutting across geographies, demographics, genre and age," Atul Bindal, president (mobile services), Bharti Airtel said in a statement.

The survey also higlights that mobile users give equal amount of preference to Hollywood A-listers when it comes to downloading.

"Our consumer usage analysis has thrown up very interesting results that truly highlight what an Indian prefers across the length and breadth of India," Bindal added.

However, a surprise came with 'Jai Ho' from 'Slumdog Millionaire' getting beaten by an April Fool Joke called 'Jab Dekho Phone Kar Dete Ho', which was the most downloaded music of the year.

Also, the nation's patronage for cricket still rides high with the top four spots notched by Tendulkar, Dhoni, Sehwag and Yuvraaj, among sports male celebrities while Maria Sharapova was able to beat Sania Mirza to be the most downloaded amongst females.
