The fate of candidates aspiring to grab a seat on the board of Kheda District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Ltd (KDCMPUL), popularly known as Amul Dairy, was today sealed. The polls saw more than 99 per cent of voting while the results would be declared on Friday.
Around 1,040 milk producers representing village-level societies are eligible to vote in the polls. Out of the total 1,040 votes, 1034 votes were cast today.
"The results would be declared tomorrow and I am confident of getting elected as chairman of the dairy for the fourth consecutive term" said Ramsinh Parmar, a Congress MLA from Thasra constituency, who has held the position of Amul Dairy chairman for the past three terms.
Thirty two candidates were in fray for the 13 seats on the board.
