The company which broadcasts two channels in India -- B4U Movies and B4U Music -- had earlier been in talks with the three leading broadcasters in India viz, Star, Zee and Sony for a possible bundling of its channels with their bouquet. However, it later decided to go it alone and has undertaken the distribution on their own.
B4U Movies which has access to the largest library of Hindi movies among all the channels is also slated to go pay in August. Gupta said: "Though we had originally planned to go pay by July, there has been a slight delay in the procurement of decoders which had to be imported. However, we will now go pay in August."
On the acquisition of new Hindi movie rights, Gupta said the company had set out a budget of around $6 million (approximately Rs 30 crore) for the current fiscal.
Gupta also said the company had achieved operating profits in the last fiscal and that it expected to post a net profit in the coming fiscal.
About the company's initial public offer (IPO), Gupta said: "We would look at our IPO plans only after that, for the moment, it is on the backburner."
B4U had earlier planned to list on the exchanges in 2000 and had also appointed leading merchant bankers for the issue, but had to defer its plans after new listing norms were issued by the securities and exchange board of India (Sebi).
