UK based BG Group resumed production of crude oil and gas from the Panna Mukta Tapti (PMT) western offshore operation on Wednesday. The operations were shut down for about two weeks following a leakage in a subsea oil evacuation pipeline system.
"We have resumed production today sometime around noon. It will take few days before we reach full production level," a senior company official told Business Standard.
He said that necessary repairs have been carried out.
While BG India, a subsidiary of BG Group Plc-UK's third- largest gas producer is the main promoter of PMT with 30 per cent holding, ONGC holds 40 per cent stake and Reliance Industries holds 30 per cent.
Panna and nearby Mukta field produce an average 40,000 barrels of crude and 200 million cubic feet of gas per day.
