"The order reinforces BHEL's leadership status in the execution of super critical thermal power projects involving supply of state-of-the-art equipment, suited to Indian coal and Indian conditions," the company said in a statement.
BHEL's scope of work in the project includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of the 800 Mw supercritical set on EPC basis. The key equipment for the contract will be manufactured at Bhel's Trichy, Hyderabad, Haridwar, Bhopal, Ranipet, Bengaluru and Jhansi plants.
The company's power sector western region is responsible for civil works and erection, commissioning of the equipment. The BHEL stock was trading at Rs 276.40, up 3.02 per cent on the BSE.
