Bhushan Steel today reported a 37 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 259 crore in the quarter ended September 30.
The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 189 crore in the second quarter of the previous fiscal, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Total income of the company increased by 32 per cent to Rs 1,730 crore in Q2FY11, from Rs 1,304 in the corresponding three-month period in 2009-10.
Bhushan Steel, a leading steel producer, has a production capacity of about 2 million tonnes per annum. The company has three manufacturing units in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Orissa.
