Revival in the stock markets and improvement in the economy has led to boom in vehicles' sale from two wheelers to cars and other commercial vehicles in the city since three to four months.

Month wise data of vehicles sold in Ahmedabad and registered in Regional Transport Office (RTO) here from April 2008 to September 2009, suggest that the sale of vehicles had falled significantly from September 2008 to January 2009.

As per the data obtained from RTO, on an average, 12000 vehicles used to be registered monthly in Ahmedabad from April to August 2008.

However, as the global economic situation worsened, it started impacting the domestic market and in September 2008, only 7,023 vehicles were registered while 8,794 vehicles were registered in the subsequent month of October.

In November, 10,245 vehicles were registered while 8,404 and 8,306 vehicles were registered in the month of December and Januray respectively.

"From September to January, the sale of vehicles was really slack in Ahmedabad but slowly it picked up in February and now its booming," Ahmedabad RTO Atul Gor said.

Gor added that from February to September 2009, number of vehicles registered per month on average crosses 12,000, which shows a huge spurt in the vehicles market.
