Chennai Petro Q4 net dips 22% at Rs 272 cr

Chennai Petroleum Corporation today reported a decline of 22 per cent in its net profit at Rs 272 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.     

The company had a net profit of Rs 343.92 crore in March 2008, Chennai Petroleum Corporation said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).     

The net sales from operations declined to Rs 4,809.98 crore in the quarter ended March 2009, from Rs 8,399.46 crore in the same period last year.     

For the year ended March 31, 2009, the company has posted a net loss of Rs 397.28 crore, while it had a net profit of Rs 1,122.95 crore the previous fiscal.
