| In the last three years, the market for elevators in India shot up from 13,000 to 20,000 units per annum and the demand is expected to further rise to 35,000 units per annum in the next five years. |

| According to Bajaaj, chairman, Lerch Bates India the joint venture will be one of the first specialised consulting firms. It will be able to act as an independent body to manage the process of determining an optimum solution for the needs of vertical transportation in terms of technology, specification and commercial aspects previously was done by the elevator companies. |
