Manu Sawhney, the head of sports channels ESPN and Star Sports in India, is the latest to join the growing ranks of Indians being promoted to take on global responsibilities.
Sawhney is relocating from New Delhi to Singapore as the vice-president of programming and event management group of ESPN Star Sports, the 50:50 joint venture between ESPN Inc and the Rupert Murdoch-promoted Star.
R C Venkateish, who was earlier the managing director of Kellogg India, will succeed Sawhney as the managing director of ESPN Software India Ltd, the fully-owned Indian subsidiary of ESPN Star Sports.
