State-run GAIL plans a capital expenditure of Rs 40,000 crore over the next four years for undertaking various projects, including sourcing of LNG, a top company official has said.
“We have planned a capex of nearly Rs 40,000 crore over the next four years for undertaking various projects, including capacity expansion of our petrochemical business as well as LPG and for sourcing of LNG,” GAIL Chairman and Managing Director B C Tripathi told reporters.
Tripathi, who was speaking on the sidelines of the launch of the first intercity (Mumbai-Panvel-Pune) CNG Eco Drive here today, said the company would require Rs 6,250 crore this financial year out of which it would raise Rs 2,500 crore from the market. “We have already tied-up for the amount,” Tripathi said.
The company plans to utilise nearly Rs 25,000 crore for its projects over the next four years.
