Mumbai: Great Eastern Shipping has announced a net profit of Rs 387.59 crore for the first quarter ended June 2008, a 7.94 per cent decline over the corresponding period last year. The total income rose to Rs 992.49 crore in the latest quarter, from Rs 754.32 crore in the same period a year-ago.

Sona Koyo Q1 PBT drops 16%

New Delhi: Auto component major Sona Koyo Steering Systems reported a decline of 16.26 per cent in its profit before tax (PBT) for the quarter ended June at Rs 10.3 crore as against Rs 12.3 crore in the period a year ago. The company said in a statement that sales during the quarter grew by 9 per cent to Rs 201.1 crore compared with Rs 185.3 crore over the corresponding period last year.

Ckoramaandel Cements Q1 net flat

Hyderabad: Ckoramaandel Cements posted a marginal 1.68 per cent increase in its net profit for the first quarter ended June 2008 at Rs 4.23 crore against Rs 4.16 crore in the year-ago period. Turnover of the company was Rs 22.19 crore for the quarter as against Rs 16.92 crore in the same period last year, reflecting an increase of 31 per cent.
