HC rejects Bajaj Union plea for pay hike

Workers' union prayed HC to grant Rs 10,000 per month per worker as an interim relief

The Bombay High Court has rejected a plea of the Bajaj Auto Chakan plant union for an interim pay hike when a writ petition filed by Bajaj Auto came up for hearing today.

The workers union prayed the High Court to grant Rs 10,000 per month per worker as an interim relief, which was subsequently declined.

In February this year the Pune-based company had offered a hike of Rs 10,000 per month in a phased manner.

Further the High Court has orally directed both the parties to take the matter of charter of demands put forward by the union to the Industrial Tribunal, Pune.

Bajaj Auto had filed a writ petition in the Bombay High Court challenging the order of Deputy Commissioner of Labour, Pune wherein Labour Department referred new demands of the union to the Industrial Tribunal, Pune.
