Taking a big bite
- Exports from India increased sharply in April- December, as Apple faced production loss in China
- Company projected to export 45-50% of its iPhone production value from India by FY23
- India could account for around a minimum 10 per cent of the global free-on-board value of phones assembled by Apple Inc vendors
- Two Apple vendors, Foxconn and Wistron, are the biggest contributors to iPhone exports from India; they are in the second year of PLI scheme. Pegatron, the third vendor in India, started operations in April 2022
