Higher tax outgo hurts HT Media Q4 net

The net dropped 13% to Rs 40 cr

HT Media's consolidated net profit for the quarter ended 31 March 2014 dropped by 13.01% from Rs 40.08 crore in Q4 FY13 to Rs 34.84 crore, owing to higher tax payments. The company's tax outgo more than doubled in the quarter under consideration from the corresponding quarter in FY13 from Rs 16.66 crore to Rs 36.29 crore.

EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs 117.46 crore as opposed to Rs 96.43 crore last year.

The publishing house's operating income grew by 8.65% to Rs 543.84 crore as compared to Rs 500.53 in Q4 FY13. Revenue from printing and publishing of newspapers and periodicals grew 6.11% while revenues from digital media grew nearly 50% to Rs 21.82 crore (vs 14.61 crore in Q4 FY13).
