The training programme for the first batch of 15 army personnel was launched by HMT Executive Director K P Mishra here on Monday. During the eight-week programme, army personnel will be trained in tractor manufacturing, including foundry operations, component manufacturing, assembling, repair and maintenance, painting and inspection. On the successful completion of the programme, they will be given certificates.
The skills will enable participants to seek employment in tractor manufacturing units and their authorised tractor service centres or open their own repair workshops after retirement from army.
The initiative has been taken in collaboration with the Army Welfare Placement Node, Chandigarh, for the junior commissioned officers and ORs working in various departments under the Western Command, Chandimandir.
