Announcing this after the annual general meeting of the company in Bhubaneswar, chairman and managing director Ansuman Das said the shareholders of the Navaratna PSU approved the dividend that works out to Rs 1.25 a share.
He said since inception Nalco had paid a total of Rs 4,519.17 crore as dividend, including Rs 3,920.73 crore as share of the central government. The upward revision was approved following a recommendation for payment of a final dividend at Rs 0.50 a share (10 per cent) in addition to the interim dividend of Rs 0.75 a share (15 per cent) paid on March 30.
