Food chain Nirula's will open 140 outlets across the country as a part of its pan-India expansion plan over the next two years.

The food chain, which aims to have a total of 200 outlets by 2010, will invest Rs 30 crore in the current year.

"Going forward Nirula's plan to have 200 outlets in the next two years to mark its presence in all major cities across the country," Nirula's Corner House Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) Sudipta Sen Gupta said on the sidelines of a seminar of National Restaurant Association of India.

The company had invested Rs 30 core last year and would invest more in next two years on expanding its presence, she added without specifying details.

"When you are expanding the chain investments are made on different things such as opening up of store and setting up logistic supply chain," she said.

Delhi-based food chain recently opened an outlet in Jaipur and is now working towards entering Mumbai in 2009.

"Mumbai will be a very big step for us... Followed by Goa, and the rest of the western India. Then we will open in South and East," she said.

Nirula's, which has 60 outlets at present, has been a predominately NCR brand though it has been opening outlets in other parts of North India gradually.

"We are proud of being the Delhi's first brand...But it is a challenge to us as marketing people to keep the same relevance and earn that same amount of love from people across the country," she added.
