Drug price regulator National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has revised the prices of six bulk drugs used in manufacturing of medicines in the country.
"The revised notified prices shall become effective within 15 days from the date of notification in the Official Gazette," NPPA said in an official release.
"All formulators utilising these drugs in their scheduled formulations are advised to follow the provisions of drug price control order (DPCO), 1995," it said.
The regulator has fixed the price excluding excise duty and local taxes of Vitamin E Acetate at Rs 768 per Kg, Parachlorometaxylenol at Rs 273 per kg, Metronidazole at Rs 526 per Kg, Metronidazole Benzoate at Rs 447 per kg and Cefotaxime Sodium Rs 6805 per Kg.
