NTPC's 500 MW Vallur Thermal Power Project starts commercial operation

Project implemented through a joint venture

NTPC Ltd has informed the BSE about the commencement of commercial operations of Unit-III 500-Mw Vallur thermal power project.

The Unit III power project located in Tiruvallur district has been set up by NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy Co Ltd (NTECL), which is a JV between NTPC and the state distribution company Tangedco.

With the latest addition, the project’s total capacity has reached 1,500- Mw, while that of the NTPC Group has touched 43,143-Mw, according to the company announcement.
