Philips scales up UP plans

| Already a leader in the audio segment, the company has set its eyes on TV as well. Currently placed fifth in the TV segment, Philips is planning to be among the top three in the country and will introduce schemes to tap the state's market. |
| Audio Brand Manager Vidyut Kaul said, "Uttar Pradesh is the most important region for us to explore, after the NCR. The home theatre segment is catching on and will experience a growth rate of 300-400 per cent. The market here is expanding and provides ample opportunities for us to increase our customers." |
| Philips claims a 40 per cent audio market share and currently hopes to take this to 50 per cent by the end of festive season this year. |
| "The audio market is already prospering in UP. We now wish to increase our supplies of TV. The market for colour TV grow at a rate of about 15-20 per cent each year and we are confident of riding this boom here. We will be opening more than 500 TV outlets in UP next year," said Kaul. |
| Kaul was in Lucknow to announce a special diwali offer for Philips customers. The offer includes the entire range of Philips products accompanied with free gifts, innovative finance schemes and exchange offers. The scheme is effective from October 10-to October 31. |
