The race for acquiring the 85 per cent controlling stake in the Dabhol Power Company took an interesting turn today with the Reliance group directly submitting an expression of interest (EoI), a source close to the bidding process said.
This comes in the wake of BSES, the power company in which the Reliance group is the single largest shareholder with a stake of over 30 per cent, already signing a confidentiality agreement with DPC.
A Reliance spokesman declined to comment on the matter. Another new entrant is the global energy major British Gas. Today was the last day for the submission of EoIs.
