Tiles maker Somany Ceramics today said its profit after tax (PAT) rose by 21.04% to Rs 5.81 crore for the first quarter ended June 30.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 4.80 crore in the same period previous fiscal, Somany Ceramics said in a statement.
The company's net sales stood at Rs 171.58 crore for the quarter ended June 2011, compared to Rs 132.34 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
Commenting on the results, Somany Ceramics Joint Managing Director Abhishek Somany said: "Our current financial results indicate a very optimistic future. We aim to grow by 25-30% in the current fiscal 2011-12."
Shares of Somany Ceramics today closed at Rs 44.65 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, up 1.48% from previous close.
