Sun Pharma net up 28%

Better domestic business and exports helped Sun Pharmaceutical Industries report a 28 per cent increase in net profit for the third quarter ending December 2008 to Rs408.6 crore, compared to Rs 318.35 crore in the corresponding previous quarter. Net sales increased by 14 per cent to Rs 918.3 crore, from Rs 804 crore in the third quarter of previous year.

“Despite the uncertainty in global financial and consumer markets, which may have a delayed impact on our business, the long term strategic intent remains intact with continuous progress being made on building therapy presence in existing and new markets,” said Dilip Shanghvi, chairman and managing director.
