Leading wind turbine maker Suzlon on Friday said it bagged 166.30 MW of cumulative orders in the third quarter so far in the country.
Orders worth Rs 935 crore have been bagged between the period beginning October 22 and December 22 covering PSUs, large corporates and SMEs, the company said in a statement here.
Suzlon's orders, which include a product mix of primarily S82-1.5 MW and S88-2.1 MW turbines, were bagged from the Maharashtra-based Malpani Group, Rajasthan Gums, Gujarat Power Corporation and Sterling Agro Group among others.
"These orders underscore the vibrant and rapidly growing wind sector, and our ability to tailor end-to-end wind solutions to all customers," Suzlon chairman and MD Tulsi Tanti said. Currently, the installed wind power capacity in the country is over 15,000 MW and as per the new and renewable energy ministry estimates, the potential is over 50,000 MW. "With an ever-increasing need for energy, along with technology making it possible to profitably harness low wind sites, we see India continuing to be one of our fastest growing markets in the years ahead," Tanti added.
