USL swings back into profit of Rs 20 cr in Q1

The company had posted net loss of Rs 62 cr in the same period a year ago

United Spirits Ltd, majority owned by Diageo, on Thursday reported first quarter profits of Rs 19.92 crore as against losses of Rs 61.8 crore in the same period last year.

USL, the owners of McDowell’s No 1, Bagpiper and Johnnie Walker, said income from operations grew by 11.8 percent to Rs 2005.54 crore from Rs 1779.83 crore over tht corresponding period last year.

The results are unaudited , USL said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
