Auto-maker VE Commercial Vehicles today said it recorded a 28.24% jump in sales of Eicher branded trucks and buses in October at 4,205 units.
The joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors had sold 3,279 units in the same month last year, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) said in a statement.
VECV's domestic sales in October increased to 4,135 units from 3,070 units in the same month a year ago, a rise of 34.69%, the company added.
The exports, however, declined by 66.51% to 70 units during the month from 209 units in October 2010.
VECV's sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market went up by 22.69% to 2,969 units during the month from 2,420 units in October 2010.
Heavy commercial vehicle sales recorded 68.14% jump to 686 units last month from 408 units in the same period last year, it added.
